Zoe Sommer2 Apr 2025 13:09I would like to replace the old wooden window with a patio door, which means the opening will be enlarged downward by about 50 cm (20 inches). This way, the crack would partially be covered. Is this possible? I would appreciate any advice!

The structural integrity is essentially not affected if the window opening is simply extended below the sill. However, the crack will then just be "taken away" without addressing its actual cause. For more precise advice, more detailed knowledge would be needed.
