Hello,
our planned single-family house needs to have the interior walls plastered and painted – the walls are first plastered and sanded, then a fiberglass mesh is applied, and finally painted (please correct me if I’m wrong). I had calculated about 680 sqm (7,319 sq ft) of wall and ceiling surface area for 160 sqm (1,722 sq ft) of living space. Now I have received a quote for 2,900 EUR; including materials and labor. That just can’t be right, can it?!
Best regards

I hope you don’t find this price too high. In my opinion, this price is way too low, which would make me suspicious.
For plastering and sanding about 600 sq m (6,460 sq ft), we had two workers working for five days. Painting and wallpapering the entire area would have taken another five days.
That adds up to 160 working hours. With your price, that would be €18.50 per hour. You might get an undeclared worker for that, but not a reputable company. And if the materials are supposed to be included as well... never ever.
We received a quote of around €6,000 for wallpapering and painting the entire 600 sq m (6,460 sq ft). Doing it ourselves took two weeks of work and cost us about €1,000.

With my question "why not," I wanted to express exactly the concerns raised by previous commenters. If it is a reputable painting company, they will use branded products, not €12 paint from AxxI. Of course, that costs more. Additionally, there are labor hours, machine hours, travel, and so on. Anyone who has ever plastered, sanded, replastered, sanded again, and then painted several hundred square meters (square feet) of walls and ceilings knows how much work that is. I think a background fleece is planned. Why is that? It is actually unnecessary for well-plastered drywall panels.
I would recommend reviewing the offer, possibly obtaining a second one, and if everything is in order for the price: congratulations on this affordable deal.
