Hello everyone
Today we received the preliminary draft of our house plans.
We are actually quite happy with them and have only made a few small changes to the windows. Now we would like to get your feedback on our plans and hear if there’s anything we should consider or maybe change

Our conditions:
We are building on a slope that rises about 3-4 meters (10-13 feet) from the street side to the plot. The garages and the office in the basement are therefore at ground level. The rest of the basement is underground.
On top of the extended garages, we will create a small south-facing balcony for breakfast and similar activities.
From the living room, you can then access the garden at ground level. There will also be a terrace in front of the living room.
The window-door element there will be slightly larger (from 2 to 3 meters (6.5 to 10 feet)).
In the bedroom, we added a window at the top and moved the bed into the room.
The office area in the basement will be divided into two offices with a drywall partition, since we both work from home.
We appreciate any feedback or criticism!

Kind regards,
Maximilian & Carmen

Always draw all desired or existing furniture to scale on the floor plan. This way, you can see where there might be issues.
Bedroom: bed is quite narrow
Terrace: also quite narrow. It will be tight with a table and chairs
Outdoor stairs: are hardly ever used by my parents-in-law. The family usually enters through the garage, and during the winter months there is almost always a chain blocking it because my father-in-law doesn’t want to spread salt or shovel.

Beautiful and very efficient design. I especially like the generous space allocated for the children. Depending on the equipment used, the utility room might become a bit tight. I would definitely build the exterior staircase and, if space allows, have it run straight down rather than in front of the study – or alternatively, create a step-free path that curves toward the front door. The terrace is wide enough to sit in the sun comfortably. However, it is too narrow to place a dining table for social gatherings. Such a table could also be placed in the garden on a wooden deck under a pergola...

The path is a good suggestion from @hampshire. That way, you can bring wheelbarrows, lawnmowers, and other equipment straight up.

Draw in 60 cm (24 inches) wardrobes in the bedroom, not 30 cm (12 inches) shelves.
The dining area will become very dark due to the roof covering.

That’s right, the dining area will be dark. You can solve this by using translucent photovoltaic panels for the canopy.
