Good morning,
I need your help, please.
Last week, we had a new aluminum front door (with a sidelight) installed for a hefty 7,000 euros. While cleaning it, I noticed a spot about 4 mm (0.16 inches) wide and 1 mm (0.04 inches) deep where the otherwise white, glossy surface has chipped off on the inside. We filed a complaint, and an employee came to inspect the damage. About 10 cm (4 inches) above the new chip, I noticed another spot—about the same size—that had already been “touched up” with paint (either done at the factory or by the installers after fitting).

Yesterday, we received a letter from the company saying they will send someone to “repair” the damage, which to us means they will simply cover up the new chip with a bit of paint, just like the spot above.
Do we have to accept this for such an expensive front door? Somehow, we don’t see why, since our money isn’t painted on either, but real ;-).
Many thanks and have a nice, sunny Sunday

The company is entitled to make corrections; only if this fails do you, as the customer, have the right to cancellation or replacement.
