Hello dear house building forum,
I am looking for new windows for my home. I am annoyed that I am only thinking about this now in the cold winter. At the moment, there are old wooden windows installed. To make the choice of new windows easier for me, I tried using an energy saving calculator.
Now I need information about what the specified unit means. Furthermore, I would appreciate some general advice on what types of windows might be practical (e.g., number of chambers). The offer includes, among others, "Rekord plastic windows." Are wooden windows still a sensible option?
Please don’t reply with comments like, "Go to a specialist store and get advice there." I am really just looking for a rough orientation, which is why I used the energy calculator. Generally, maybe wood vs. plastic and then which type.
Thanks in advance.

Go to a specialized store and get advice! What’s wrong with that?
Your question is way too general, and a lot has already been written about windows and their specifications.
Regarding the choice of materials: Who still wants plastic nowadays? Who wants it to be obvious at first glance that they have the cheapest windows in the house? Who still wants non-decomposable material that later has to be disposed of as hazardous waste?
Regards
