Hello everyone!

We have now covered our concrete staircase with dark natural stone (Grey Steel) and are really thrilled! However, dust, sand, and the like show up very quickly, and sand is obviously not good for the surface.

Do you have any good tips for daily cleaning? A Swiffer doesn’t work well because the staircase is closed and due to the sand, and using a hand broom and dustpan isn’t very effective either. I have even thought about buying a good handheld vacuum (a Dyson DC34), but I’m not sure if that’s the “best” way.

Thank you in advance!

We have dark wood – no less difficult to keep clean 🙁

Why doesn’t the Swiffer work?

I dry mop with a microfiber cloth, holding a handheld vacuum in my left hand to pick up the hair.

I guarantee: over the years, the steps will be replaced with shabby-chic style stairs here.

I can totally understand the replacement; it’s a huge effort to keep it clean.
I can only say good things about Dyson vacuum cleaners. They are really excellent compared to many others, although they do come at a price.

In the meantime, we purchased the Dyson DC34 handheld vacuum cleaner and are extremely impressed with it.

However, it is only somewhat suitable for cleaning stairs because it blows air out to the sides, which causes additional dust to become airborne...
