Hello everyone, I have the following problem: My Kallax shelving unit has become quite warped and twisted after my recent move. Previously, the unit was completely straight, but now it’s clearly twisted and doesn’t stand stable on the floor.
I suspect this happened because of carrying it and placing it on what was probably an uneven surface. My question is: Is it possible to straighten a warped Kallax shelving unit without it falling apart or sustaining permanent damage? And if so, what exactly should I do? Are there any special techniques or tools that could help?
I would appreciate any advice, as I would like to keep the shelving unit. Thanks in advance!

Often, the Kallax can be straightened again.Could you please explain how reliable this method of disassembling is? My concern is that plastic connectors may lose stability after repeated disassembly.
Additionally, it should be clarified whether the problem really stems from the connections or rather from uneven floor levels or warped panels.
Does anyone have experience with permanent deformation of the shelving unit due to mechanical stress?

Is the issue really caused by the connections or rather by uneven floor levels or warped panels?Exactly, that’s why it’s very important to check the floor and, if necessary, level it! 🙂
I agree: sometimes it’s more about the floor than the shelf 🙂
My tip: place the shelf somewhere else where the floor is definitely level, and see if it stands more firmly.
If it does, you can put something underneath it so it also stands firmly in the original spot, such as small felt or rubber adhesive pads. This takes little effort and often helps.

Disassemble Kallax, check floor level, reassemble. It’s never as simple as it sounds for me; I felt that the panels had slightly warped during transport. That’s why I had to file and adjust a bit until everything fit.
You need a bit of patience sometimes, but it’s worth it.
Just as a supplement: If the panels are actually warped, adding moisture will not help and usually makes things worse. It’s better to carefully sand such panels and then secure them properly.
Custom-cut shims or furniture pads are often the best solution to level uneven floors without causing stress.
