Hello CcK,

Since I am facing the same issue, I wanted to ask if you have any updates or if the additional drillings were successful?

Hello everyone,

Sorry, I somehow forgot to make this post, but the private message helped.
In the end, I simply re-drilled the metal part. It’s not pretty, but it works.

I followed the same procedure over the weekend. The metal part is essentially symmetrical in dimensions; drilling the holes requires some tools and patience but ultimately works quite well.

Hello and thank you for the great suggestions.

However, regarding this solution with the self-drilled holes, I wonder how you managed to install the plastic rod the other way around? Simply rotating it is not that easy because IKEA has installed a plastic web inside the part, which prevents the plastic component from being mounted reversed?! (without removing it)

Of course, there is also the option of swapping the vertically mounted end plates on the outside of the Pax wardrobe, which serve as stops for the sliding doors. But that doesn’t work properly either, because these also have a taper on one side (at the top) to allow space for the end of the upper sliding rails.

Can you tell me how you solved the plastic issue? Why doesn’t IKEA just make two versions?

Hi,
I simply removed the plastic strip because it didn’t seem to serve any purpose (other than preventing us from mounting it "the wrong way"). Alternatively, you could cut or file a suitable notch into the metal part.
