Hello everyone,

does anyone know the minimum size required for the utility room?
We are getting a geothermal heat pump and a central ventilation system.
What else needs to be installed there besides the electrical panel?
At the moment, the room is 2.3 m x 3.2 m (7.5 ft x 10.5 ft).
Would that be enough?
And are there any noise issues if there is a bedroom directly above?
Thanks.

Best regards

How large are the devices? Is there a separate hot water storage tank? There also needs to be space for the water and electrical connections from the utilities. How big will the ventilation system be? Ours is installed in the attic and requires about 8 m² (86 sq ft), including all supply and exhaust ductwork!

Should the room be used solely as a boiler room, or also as a utility room to accommodate a washing machine, dryer, etc.?

We have about 12m² (130 sq ft) and inside are:
- Indoor unit of the air-to-water heat pump
- Central ventilation system (mounted on the ceiling)
- Electricity meter
- Water connection
- Telecom connection

In addition, there will be a washing machine, dryer, shelves, etc.

The room will be quite full in the end.

Just over 7m² (75 sq ft) can become very tight if you also need to fit a washing machine, dryer, and shelves in there.

No, the utility room is separate in our house.

Our utility room is still less than 4m2 (43 sq ft). It contains the alarm system, electrical panel, hot water tank, heat pump (split system), network cabinet, all utility connections, and a small shelf for tools located below the electrical panel.
