Hello,

we have a new multi-family house with a heating system, air pump, solar thermal system, and water softener installed.

1- Should these systems be serviced regularly (annually)?
2- What would the approximate cost of such maintenance be?

What are you waiting for with a brine-to-water heat pump?

I had maintenance done at least after the first heating season, and that was a good decision. It was found that one kilogram (2.2 pounds) of refrigerant was still missing, which probably cannot be detected during the initial startup in summer.

In any case, a leak test was performed. If I remember correctly, according to EU regulations, certain heat pumps must even undergo annual maintenance.

I would rather call it a "repair" – maintenance itself is not necessary in this case.

Just found this on a website:
"The EU F-Gas Regulation No. 842/2006 requires an annual leak check for systems containing more than 3 kilograms (6.6 pounds) of refrigerant."

You will never find 3kg (6.6 lbs) in a heat pump for a single-family home 😉

5.7kg (12.6 lbs) at startup and now 1kg (2.2 lbs) more.
