Hello everyone,

I have been searching for days for a garden shed measuring 3x3 meters (10x10 feet) with a door clearance height of 190 cm (75 inches). It has proven to be more difficult than I expected.
  • There are very few garden sheds that offer the dimensions I want, 3x3 meters (10x10 feet).
  • Hardly any garden sheds have doors with a clearance height of 190 cm (75 inches). Most are only 174 cm (69 inches) or 182 cm (72 inches) tall. Since people are getting taller, I don’t understand why most garden sheds have door heights that low.

Do you know of any garden sheds that meet my requirements? The material doesn’t matter at this point. I had favored steel or aluminum, but wood would also work if necessary.

With 3 people, it takes about 8 hours. However, some technical skill is required. Instructions are included, and everything is pre-drilled. There are just a lot of screws and individual parts.

Hi, I’m also considering the BioHort H5 because I’m looking for a stylish, low-maintenance shed up to 10m² (107.6 sq ft) where I can install doors on two sides—one to access from the street and one from the garden.

I hope I’ll find a showroom where I can see it in person sometime.

But you seem very satisfied with it, right? You have it without a floor, correct? So the frame sits directly on the paving and is somehow anchored into it? That means the door frame has a threshold, but there are these drive-up ramps and with the wheels it’s easier to get in... There are quite a few accessories available for these sheds, which I also like!

Hi,

Yes, we are very satisfied. We chose the version with the aluminum floor. I personally think it’s better. But you have to see what suits you best. We installed it on paving stones and fastened it there with anchors and screws. The floor frame is then screwed down, about 10–15 screws in total. Everything needed was included, although I’m not sure if that’s only with the floor frame option.
The threshold isn’t really high, but it depends on your ground surface. On BioHort’s website, there are many customer photos and the assembly instructions. Everything is well explained there.

With your method, do you need to consider moisture or dampness that could penetrate from the ground, or is it well sealed?

According to the manufacturer, there are different options for that. It’s mentioned on the website under foundation tips. We placed a moisture barrier on top of the paving stones. Then we added 3cm (1¼ inches) Styrodur panels on top of that. Above that is the aluminum floor. The house is also ventilated. There are ventilation slots all around the top, and at the corners near the bottom as well. So far, we haven’t had any issues with moisture.

Is this vapor barrier as well as the Styrodur boards from Biohort, or did you use materials from other manufacturers? The ventilation slots are included in the standard version, right?
