Hello,
We would like to place the outdoor unit of the heat pump behind the garage. It would be about 3 m (10 feet) from the utility room. However, it would then be located between two buildings (my shed is 3 m (10 feet) away).
This location would be ideal in terms of visibility for us, as I would install a privacy screen and would no longer see the outdoor unit frequently. However, the heating engineer said that noise tends to build up there and recommended choosing a location where the sound can dissipate freely into open space. Now, the outdoor unit is right next to my terrace. While the connection to the utility room is perfect, I am not sure if he chose the location mainly because of the short distance and ease of installation, or if it will actually be too loud behind the garage. Do you have any experience with this?
Edit: Here you can see the outdoor unit drawn behind the garage. Now he is basically planning to place it on the gable next to the small section of the terrace: Click
