DasMoritz4 Mar 2020 20:59Good evening to the forum,
I would like to get an expert opinion on the lighting design in the bathroom.
A "lighting consultant" from a well-known lighting company in the area recommended using only perimeter lighting in the bathroom.
Currently, there is a central ceiling fixture (which is also where the wiring outlet is located), and there is also a light above the mirror that provides quite bright, cool light.
His recommendation was to install 3 LED spots around the bathtub and 2 LED spots on the shower wall.
The distance to the wall is 30cm (12 inches) in both cases. The spots are spaced 60cm (24 inches) apart from each other but also start and end 30cm (12 inches) away from the wall.
The spots are dimmable and emit warm white light. The manufacturer is Mobilux GmbH from Syke.
I will control the spots via Homematic, planning to use a double switch to control and dim the two LED circuits separately.
The ceiling is drywall, lowered by about 10cm (4 inches) with a total ceiling height of approximately 240cm (94 inches).
I am trying to figure out whether his plan really makes sense.
When I lie in the bathtub, I would be looking indirectly into the spots (even if dimmed).
If I need more light at the mirror, the spots at that distance won’t really help.
Adding another light source (other than the one above the mirror) in addition to the five planned spots seems pointless to me.
I also don’t know about covering the entire ceiling with multiple spots.
What are your opinions on this?
Thank you very much,
DasMoritz

Thank you.
The lamps offered were:
LED recessed downlight round white IP65 12W 700Lm 2000-2800K Ra>90 from the manufacturer Mobilux GmbH
What exactly do you mean by your flat LED lights?
Flat LED panels or something else?
Thanks,
Moritz
