So, I'm starting a new topic here to avoid overloading the house pictures thread.
I find the sliding doors for ovens quite interesting – but do they really offer any added value? I was also surprised to read that ovens now seem to be adopting a feature I dislike in microwaves: instead of setting temperature and possibly time, you input the "dimensions" of the food?! What is that supposed to achieve?! Personally, I think it’s terrible.

By the way, the result is a brewed coffee that you can’t distinguish from one made with a manual filter, as long as you set it up just as precisely here. You can just make a lot more at once.
Uh... no! But that has been sufficiently discussed. Let’s agree on irreconcilable differences—that will make things simpler. And about the coffee: my dual-boiler machine can’t make brewed coffee at all and it cost more than the thermal blender. Crazy world.

With hand-kneading we’re back in the category of “making something makes you happy.” Comparable to chopping wood. Oh, that’s not what I meant at all. The Kenwood kneads the dough for me; for Maultaschen/Ravioli/pasta, I use the roller attachments. Doing it by hand became too cumbersome and inconsistent in terms of thickness after a while.
I’m also noticing the irreconcilable differences regarding coffee. I was very happy to spend a lot of money on our dual-boiler machine. The result is all about enjoyment, not just "quickly making a pot." Only someone who doesn’t really drink coffee could take that seriously, right?
We won’t find any common ground here. When it comes to coffee, there are no compromises!

When kneading by hand, we’re definitely back in the category of “producing something makes you happy.” It’s comparable to chopping wood. Yeah, and when I don’t have the time or energy for chopping wood or kneading, I go for the more convenient option of central heating or a stand mixer. Baking cake also makes you happy, and a warm house even more so. Both of my stand mixers make equally good yeast dough, but the Thermomix does it much faster (and can also gently warm the milk and butter, which in the microwave might risk mess or contamination).
By the way, the Thermomix also makes excellent pasta dough; I’ve never dared try that with the MUM because I’m afraid it might break — it twists so much even with relatively soft yeast dough…
