Hello everyone, I have a question that has been on my mind for a while: Is there a way to lock or connect the individual KALLAX units from IKEA so that they are securely and permanently joined together without making the structure unstable or requiring external tools or major modifications? I want to place several units side by side and avoid them sliding apart or shifting, especially when they are loaded or moved. Are there any recommended methods, special connectors, or perhaps even IKEA-certified accessories that can achieve this? I’m looking forward to your experiences and advice!

I totally understand you; that’s really frustrating. My recommendation is to firmly connect the modules to each other and additionally secure them to the wall. That way, it just feels safer, and there won’t be any unexpected movements when handling or relocating them.

That is correct. IKEA does not offer specific locking systems for KALLAX units. The most practical solution for secure fastening is the use of standard furniture connectors recommended by various users. Additionally, I suggest using anti-slip pads under the case to reduce sliding on smooth floors.

In short: attach the angle connectors from the inside, insert the screws, done. There are no special IKEA locks; no one else does that either.
