Hello,

Our house comes with standard radiators installed.
To have it done as underfloor heating, we need to pay about €8,500 (approximately $9,500 USD) extra.
The area of the underfloor heating is about 145 sqm (1,560 sq ft).

Is this additional cost justified? After all, the radiators would be removed, which seems to already be factored into the price.

Thanks in advance!

Expensive. When building a new house, installing an FHZ generally does not involve any significant additional effort.

No, it’s not justified; it’s too expensive. But what can you do about it? If it’s a developer or general contractor: take it or leave it...

Best regards,

Andreas

Which heating system? Gas or heat pump?

Gas works with radiators and underfloor heating, while a heat pump is most efficient only with a well-designed underfloor heating system, meaning low supply temperatures.

Not bad, the woodpecker.
If you go with a budget general contractor, the extra costs are usually never justified.
Take it or leave it.
