ᐅ Is insulation of the garage lintel necessary or not?

Hello everyone,

there are very different opinions regarding the possible need to insulate the lintel of the garage.

The detached garage is built with Bisotherm Hbl blocks and is unheated, and no other insulation is installed.

I assume that the lintel does not need to be insulated either. Am I correct, or is insulation still required?

I can’t think of any reason why it would need to be insulated.

That’s exactly how I thought about it. Since nothing will be heated or insulated, it wouldn’t make any sense at all.

I believe the contractor who tried to talk me into it is either business-minded or clueless.

Or he always does it this way, whether the garage is attached to the house or detached.
