Good afternoon dear forum members,

I want to install anchors in a brick wall to mount a TV wall bracket with a maximum load of 40 kg (88 lbs). Unfortunately, I am not sure what type of brick this is or if anchors would be strong enough.

Photos are attached. Maybe someone knows better what to do 🙂

Thank you very much in advance

How heavy is the TV itself?
It shouldn’t weigh 40 kilograms (88 pounds), right?
Our 65-inch TV is mounted on sand-lime brick.
I would be cautious with hollow blocks or aerated concrete.

Thank you for the quick response!
My TV also has a 65-inch diagonal and weighs 33kg (73 lbs) without the stands. When tapping the wall, it definitely does not sound solid. That’s why I’m a bit concerned about this.

There are universal anchors available from various manufacturers in different diameters and lengths, with matching screws,
for example, the UX series.
Get advice at your local hardware store.

That’s no problem at all. The bricks will definitely hold – basement, right?

Most likely, even the anchors from the mounting bracket are sufficient. Otherwise, just head to the hardware store. If you’re “worried,” use Duopower 10x80 anchors with matching hex screws. If something still falls down after that, you might want to consider moving out 😉

We mounted our TV using heavy-duty external hex head screws from Fischer. You probably could have hung a small car on them. Better to have more strength than you need, in my opinion.

External hex heads are definitely preferable because they can be tightened better than Phillips heads.
