Hello,

I was working away from home this week and stopped by the construction site briefly this evening.
I couldn’t believe my eyes.
The main contractor installed the interior window sills, but they protrude by at least 10 cm (4 inches), and probably around 8.5 cm (3.3 inches) after plastering.
Isn’t that unusual nowadays?
That was common practice in the past when you needed to hide radiators underneath.
Now all the issues begin, but surely it can’t stay like this, right?

Best regards,
Daniel

If homeowners did not always react so emotionally and took a moment to think things through rationally, many misunderstandings would be easier to resolve....

Well, I do a lot of thinking, and if the contractor did the same, everything would be fine.

I meant it in a general way because people keep getting upset about all sorts of things. They’ve read something about some DIN standard and immediately start complaining, even though they have no real understanding of how construction works or where the regulations for execution apply. I no longer build for others, only for myself...

Once again, regarding the topic of thinking.
The window sills have been cut and reinstalled, but not as agreed with 16cm (6 inches) visible and a 2.5cm (1 inch) overhang, instead they are set at 18cm (7 inches) with almost a 4cm (1.5 inches) overhang.
And slowly I feel like I might need to start drinking.

Hello,
Have your walls already been plastered?

Because 2cm (0.8 inches) are also planned for that.

Best regards,
Birgit

I am involved, but I have already taken measurements from the corner profile.
