Hello,

I was working away from home this week and stopped by the construction site briefly this evening.
I couldn’t believe my eyes.
The main contractor installed the interior window sills, but they protrude by at least 10 cm (4 inches), and probably around 8.5 cm (3.3 inches) after plastering.
Isn’t that unusual nowadays?
That was common practice in the past when you needed to hide radiators underneath.
Now all the issues begin, but surely it can’t stay like this, right?

Best regards,
Daniel

A DIN standard is an old-fashioned belief?
And no, he placed the order only after everything was finished; I actually chose the paint just last week.
And he only builds houses without insulation.

Besides, he installed the windows exactly as the architect designed them.

However, the architect did not design any window sills protruding 10cm (4 inches) into the room.

No, I just meant to say that the windows are already properly installed.
When I arrived at the construction site this morning, the window sills were already removed.
If the sills come out the way I want, they will have a visible surface of about 16cm (6 inches) later, with only a 2cm (0.8 inches) overhang.
That’s how it is at my home now, and I think it’s great—there’s even room for a small flower pot.
I have now offered him a small compensation of 100 euros myself.

That’s fair. Give him something. He gives to you too.
