In my opinion, gypsum plaster has the advantage that it can be painted directly without wallpaper; I think it looks good and saves money. However, the builder said that gypsum plaster tends to develop mold quickly because it is not breathable. Therefore, anti-mold agents are added nowadays to prevent mold growth. My question is: how toxic are these additives? Are they safe to use?
Is it possibly feasible to avoid them if proper ventilation and other measures are taken?

If everything is fine with the building, no wall covering will develop mold.
Fighting mold with paints and plasters is only treating the symptoms.
I find such measures only interesting for wet rooms in swimming pools.
How about using lime plaster instead of lime-cement plaster? It is less durable, but I do not fully recommend cement in living spaces because of the chromium content.
