Hi,

While looking for an answer to my question about the IKEA Beddinge sofa bed, I came across this forum but didn’t find anything using the search function... Maybe someone can still help me.

My IKEA Beddinge sofa bed is already several years old, and the slats have slowly but surely given out from sitting in the same spot a lot. Since I still want to be able to sleep on it properly, I got replacement slats from IKEA, which they kindly gave me for free. Now I’m facing a problem, though. I’m hesitant to forcefully remove the gray holders because I’m afraid they might break. But I can’t bend the frame wide enough to pull out the slats.

Has anyone ever replaced the slats on an IKEA Beddinge sofa bed and can share some tips or experiences?

Thanks
H

Hi,
you need to press the old bedding slats—how can I put it—against the holder on one side. Then, with one hand, bend the slat upward in the middle and hold the end with the other hand. You have to bend it upwards enough to remove it from the other holder. With the new slat, do the same: slide it into the holder and bend it upward until you can insert it fully into the holder.

Hello Mr. Rossi,

thank you for the quick response. I have finally managed to replace the battens... It took quite some effort, and I felt like I almost broke the plastic bracket, but it worked.
