maccusHello forum,
We had the interior plaster applied three weeks ago. Now, with the recent drop in temperatures, ice has formed on the wooden frame, mainly in the basement. On the ground floor and upper floor, where it is heated (wood stove), this issue occurs less frequently.
The windows are wiped and ventilated twice a day. So far, I haven’t scraped off the ice, as I don’t think it can get any worse (it’s already frozen).
What should I do now? Should I heat to prevent frost or just leave it as it is? Could the windows be damaged by this?
Regards and thanks
Maccus

I definitely recommend heating the basement rooms as well to ensure that the moisture introduced during plastering and construction is properly removed from the house. Otherwise, the moisture will stay in the basement and contribute to damage.
A wood stove in the basement too; ventilate briefly for 1-3 minutes, if possible three times at these temperatures, and the moisture should disappear.
