Hello everyone, I am currently considering whether the Ikea Brimnes furniture series is suitable for couples, especially regarding functionality and storage in bedrooms with limited space. My question is mainly directed at couples who already have experience with this type of furniture: How satisfied are you with the layout, stability, and long-term use when sharing the furniture? Have certain elements, such as the wardrobe or beds, proven to be particularly practical or problematic? I look forward to your personal assessments and would also like to know if the choice of BRIMNES furniture is recommended for small to medium-sized rooms without either of you feeling cramped.

In a partnership, it is important that furniture is not only functional but also sturdy.

I agree completely, and I wonder if Ikea might be compromising on quality with the Brimnes series in order to keep the price low.

Are there any comparison points with other series where couples also demand high standards for stability and durability? Or is BRIMNES designed more for shorter periods of use? I would also like to hear specifically about the weight capacity of the bed frame for two people – what is it like?

The load capacity is adequately designed for two people in terms of material, as long as the combined weight remains around 200 kg (440 lbs). The construction is mid-range, but the stability can be significantly improved by securely anchoring it to the wall and adding extra cross braces.

We also noticed that the fittings are well made and the drawer rollers remain durable. However, regularly checking the screws is advisable to prevent problems later on. Although the bed is not solid wood, it is a very attractive option for couples looking for a good value-for-money ratio.
