Hello everyone,
I have a MALM bed from IKEA standing on a very smooth laminate floor. I keep noticing that the bed slips slightly when I sit down or get up. This is not only annoying but also somewhat unsafe, especially when getting into bed half asleep at night.

My question: What is the best way to secure the MALM bed against slipping on a smooth floor without damaging the floor or the furniture? Are there any specific products or DIY solutions that have proven effective?

It is important to me that the solution is stable, long-lasting, and at the same time protects the floor. I would appreciate any tips!

I find that a slippery bed on laminate flooring is really annoying! 🙂 What worked great for me are non-slip rubber mats, like the ones used for refrigerators. Just place them under the bed legs – and voilà, no more slipping.

It works even better if you clean the legs lightly beforehand so the adhesive sticks properly.

That’s true! People often underestimate how important that small step is. A clean surface really makes a difference.

If you want a solution without adhesive, I would recommend trying these mats first before gluing anything. You can also remove the rubber mats later without leaving any residue. This makes it more flexible and safer for the laminate flooring.

Good luck fixing your bed! 🙂
