Hello everyone, I have a problem with the doors of my Ikea Hemnes dresser, which unfortunately rub against the frame when opened or closed. I suspect that either the hinges are no longer properly adjusted or the door has warped. Is there a reliable method to fix the rubbing without having to remove the doors completely or buy new hinges? I am especially interested in how to correctly adjust the hinges and whether any sanding or trimming on the door edges or the cabinet itself is advisable to make everything operate smoothly again. Thanks for any step-by-step tips!
I recently had the same problem and am really happy that I simply followed the tips here to adjust the doors and lightly sand the edges! It’s such a great feeling of success when the door finally swings smoothly again. I found it important not to do too much all at once, but to proceed step by step, so you don’t get stuck in the adjustment process. So, keep at it – the Hemnes doors are very sturdy and easy to repair. Good luck to everyone, and always remember: small adjustments make all the difference!
