Hello everyone, I recently assembled an Ikea Hemnes piece of furniture and applied adhesive labels on its surface. Unfortunately, after removing these labels, sticky residue remained that has been difficult to remove with conventional methods and often risks damaging the surface.
My question is: How can I reliably and gently remove adhesive residue from an Ikea Hemnes furniture piece without damaging the surface? I am particularly interested in which household remedies, specific cleaning products, or tools are recommended, and if there are any particular considerations regarding the materials to avoid discoloration or surface damage.
I look forward to your experiences and tips, especially if you have encountered similar situations with Ikea furniture.

Cool that so many tips are coming together here!
I had some adhesive residue from protective films on the side of my Hemnes dresser. What worked really well for me was simple peanut butter! Just apply a little, let it sit for a short time, and then rub it off with a soft cloth. It dissolves the adhesive and is very gentle on the surface!
Give it a try, I was really impressed?!

Has anyone had experience with whether a special cleaning is needed afterward to avoid greasy residues on the Hemnes surface? Or is regular soapy water enough? I wouldn’t want to soak the dresser in a sticky oil bath.
