RomanibkHello,
In our new apartment, the Grohe Grohtherm 3000 c (square model) was installed in the shower and bathtub at our request because we liked its design the most. Since Hansgrohe is said to be of better quality than Grohe, my idea is to order the overhead shower and hand shower from Hansgrohe. Would it be advisable to mix two different manufacturers? Or are the showers from Grohe also good?

Regarding showers, I assume the difference is probably not that significant. Grohe is also a reputable brand manufacturer. I was recently recommended the Hansgrohe shower fittings because they use a standardized concealed installation box, and the fittings are said to have fewer issues. Apparently, Grohe has two different concealed installation systems, so not everything is compatible. However, I can’t judge how much of the plumber’s statement is accurate and how much might be influenced by purchasing conditions or personal installation preferences. I do trust him, especially since I don’t have better knowledge myself. In principle, you can also mix manufacturers; for example, my sink fittings come from Hansa.
Installed in the shower and bathtub is a Grohe Rapido T concealed thermostat valve. From this valve, one pipe leads to the rain shower connection and another to the handheld shower connection. For the bathtub, one pipe goes to the bath filler and another to the handheld shower connection.
My questions are:
1. Can any rain shower (with a wall outlet pipe and either a round or square overhead shower) be connected to the rain shower outlet?
2. Can any handheld shower be connected to the two handheld shower connections in the wall, or do they need to be specific models?
Or is it strongly recommended to use Grohe products here, perhaps due to the compatibility between the valve and the "end device"?

Is it recommended to combine two different manufacturers? As long as the connections fit, it’s not an issue. However, one manufacturer’s chrome finish might differ from another’s silver gloss, which could lead to visual inconsistencies. Functionally, this does not matter.
