we installed a square rain shower from IdealStandard. Lately, it has started dripping on its own more often. The last use was easily 12 hours ago. Sometimes only one of the outlets drips, sometimes several.
Do you have any idea what might be causing this?
Cheers

When you turn off the water, a vacuum forms inside the hose leading to the showerhead or the rain shower arm. The water inside the hose or pipe wants to flow out, but since neither air nor water can enter from the back once the water is turned off, a negative pressure develops. After a short time, the pressure equalizes from the showerhead side, causing water held by the vacuum to drip out. If the air pressure in the bathroom later changes (due to temperature changes), the shower may drip even much later. You could try switching the diverter back to the handheld shower hose after you finish showering; this might solve the dripping issue in your case.

thanks for your explanation.
I think I’ll have to read it again later to fully understand it.
Our shower hose, however, has a separate control. We have one for the temperature and one each for the water flow of the rain shower and the shower hose.

Hello Martin,
I just searched for this problem and came across this page. Interestingly, we also have a square rainforest shower from IdealStandard. Is this just a coincidence or some kind of design flaw in the shower?
Have you been able to solve the issue somehow? If we forget to close the bathroom door, it can happen that we get woken up in the middle of the night. Not great, especially for a new build.
Best regards!
