Hello everyone,

We want to upgrade our shower to a rain shower.

When searching online, you find many options, but most include the shower mixer.

However, we want an external shower riser rail.
Do you have any recommendations?

Or do you have tips on what to consider when retrofitting?
Stainless steel or brass components?
Square or round showerhead?

Is the water pipe sized large enough to supply a rain shower?

I was just thinking about that too—whether the pressure is actually sufficient. Do you mean that?

Not only the pressure but also the flow rate. In other words, whether the pipe diameter is large enough.

We have the Schulte Duschmaster Rechtsanwältin II and are satisfied with it.

What do you mean by external rod?

The most important factor is really the water supply. A rain shower head won’t do much if only a trickle comes out.

By the way, there are now "next-generation" versions that produce an even finer mist. For example, Hansgrohe calls this PowderRain. It splashes less, is significantly quieter, and works much better for washing long hair. The latter is the main complaint women have about rain showers.

However, these require more water flow or hotter water, because a considerable amount of air is mixed in. The bathroom also fogs up much more noticeably.
