ᐅ Built-in Bathtub - Faucet

Hi,

we are having a surround built around our bathtub at the same height as the tub. Now I am looking for a suitable faucet. Rim-mounted faucets don't appeal to us; we prefer wall-mounted faucets. We like the Hansgrohe Focus series. Is there a way to extend wall-mounted faucets so that they reach over the built-up surround?

Maybe there are completely different options that we haven't considered yet?

Regards,
Alex

The terms and conditions do not prohibit images, if I interpret them correctly?

Okay, so once again. This one is the one I have in mind:

Hansgrohe 31940000 Focus

I’m not fond of Axor and Metris.

Hello abertram,

I have replaced the image with the product name.
I think everyone can agree on that.

If you took the photo yourself or can prove you have usage rights, otherwise it is a copyright violation and the image will most likely have to be removed by the moderators. Sometimes the internet is just difficult to manage without links.

With the right search terms, it’s possible even without links and images.

But apart from pictures and links related to fittings, there hasn’t been a solution for the extension yet.
I would actually be more interested in a picture or drawing from abertram showing how he envisions it and what distances are involved.
If I understand correctly, the gap between the wall and the bathtub is too large. I can’t really imagine extending the fittings. It would probably make more sense to bring the connections closer to the bathtub from below. That would likely mean using built-in (concealed) fittings.

It will be difficult without being allowed to post images. And my drawing skills, well... :-(

Yes, you understood correctly. It concerns the distance between the wall and the bathtub.

A wall-mounted faucet would also be an option. But the problem remains that the tub spout would need to be long enough to bridge the gap between the wall and the bathtub.

With modern bathtubs, the tub spout is integrated into the tub itself. So basically from underneath, directly into the tub at a kind of "lever" where you can open and close the drain plug at the bottom by turning it. Do you see what I mean?

I had to think for a moment and look it up to understand what you meant. At Hansgrohe, the system is apparently called Exafill. But thanks, I hadn’t considered that. It really seems like a good solution.
