Hello dear forum community!
We are busy working on the landscaping around our new build. Now I need some ideas for a specific planting bed. Soon, our neighbor will finish their driveway, which runs parallel to ours. We have left a one-meter (3 feet) gap between our paving and the property boundary and want to create a bed there. Our driveway is quite long, about 25 meters (82 feet), running from west to east. Due to the street layout, the west-facing side gets full sunlight. I would like to plant various shrubs and plants that do not grow wider than this one-meter (3 feet) space. Also, leaf drop in autumn should be avoided because our drainage runs just next to the bed beneath the paving. A privacy screen is not necessary, but it would be nice to partially block the view of the neighbor’s property. Both front doors face each other here. In the last five meters (16 feet) of the bed, the plants should grow denser, as it is possible to see into our garden from there. I have taken a few photos to illustrate.
As I am new to gardening, I am simply lacking ideas. The garden itself will lean towards a cottage garden style, with native and insect-friendly plants preferred!
Thanks in advance 🙂
