Hello everyone,

We are currently facing an increasing number of questions and decisions.
The house will have a white plaster facade, and the windows are ordered in anthracite (outside).

Now, regarding the garage door.
The garage is located directly next to the front door (planned in anthracite). So far, we wanted an anthracite-colored door, but apparently, because of the south-facing orientation, there are often issues in summer with the door warping or expanding due to heat, making it difficult to open.
We are now unsure whether to choose a white door and how that would look. Perhaps the garage plaster color could be changed as well? (The window at the back, however, is ordered in anthracite.) Or maybe a different door color? Do you have any ideas or have you solved a similar issue at your home?

Hello,

well, the house has a white facade and anthracite-colored windows.

A garage with an anthracite-colored render and a white door would probably create a nice color contrast.

The window on the back wouldn’t bother me if it has a different color than the door.

Regards,

Dirk

Yes, that’s an idea.
What are your experiences with gate colors regarding dirt?
Is white more sensitive than light gray?
And which surface is the most resistant to scratches or marks from a soccer ball? The woodgrain surface was offered to us as the most durable, but we don’t really like it.
Sandgrain or micrograin are also options.

Why should a gate in white be more prone to dirt than a house painted white?

I would only choose woodgrain if the windows and the door are also finished in woodgrain; otherwise, I wouldn’t.

Well, most of the fenced gates I know are borderline dirty... Mainly due to splash dirt.

Well, the white plaster of the same age is probably just as "dirty," right? So the plastic garage door next to it is actually the least of your worries. Besides, water, dish soap, and a cloth work wonders—I’ve been told. You’ll have bigger problems with the white plaster.
