The plot seems to be very nicely located.
Edit: I also find the kitchen with 3 doors, which divide the counters into 4 sections, somewhat fragmented. The access to the open-plan living area is slowed down by the island.

I’m aware that the upper floor won’t win any architectural awards.
But if you mentally ignore the access to Child 2, we actually like the rest of the upper floor quite a bit, and I don’t see anything that wouldn’t work there.
All other options we’ve considered so far for accessing this room require a few extra square meters of corridor space.
Oh, and the electrician is a good friend, so he’ll also be fine with 1m (3.3 ft) width in front of the closet.

At some point, your child will likely need to access this cabinet, as well as electricians who don’t know you personally. In that case, there could be penalties even for that friend.
