Hello everyone,

I hope this fits in well with the forum.

We need to remove a lot of soil from another area of the property and would like to use it to fill in this spot. We are not yet sure how high or how much we will fill; this is still being considered. Depending on how high we build up the ground towards the street, we might need to create 2-3 steps, but we would prefer not to do that since this path is often used to carry heavy items or wheelbarrows, so maybe it’s better to slope it gently instead?

Now to the actual question:

Along the house wall, there is a stone strip. How would you approach this? Would you simply place concrete blocks like in the photo on top of it, to create a gap from the wall?

We want/need to try to keep costs low.

We would really appreciate any tips or ideas.

Thank you
Martin

I’m sorry, I don’t understand anything at all.

Best regards

Okay, that may be true. For me, it was naturally clear, hehe.

Here are two more photos. Soil should be placed on the marked area... on the right side, it is somewhat steeper, about 1 meter (3 feet) high... and the whole area is on a slope. We want to fill in this hole (framed in brown) a bit... for that, we would probably need to install a "retaining wall" made of stones along the house wall.

Formwork blocks, reinforcement steel inserted, and concrete. Use the nice anthracite blocks if you can see one side.

Should I really fill it up with concrete*? Isn't the edge strip with the stones intentionally there...? Doesn’t it serve a purpose? (I’m not familiar with this)

Well, your bricks come before the strip foundation. But then you will have a hole.
