Hello forum community,

I just noticed that in the mini water barrier of our walk-in shower, a joint has, um… been filled with grout. It starts normally but then becomes progressively narrower until it eventually disappears completely.

Should there actually be a joint there?
Beige tiled floor with irregular, damp spots.

Beige tiled floor with shadows on the left and white spots on one tile.

What is that?

Joints are sealed, yes.

Is that visible in the photos? Do you mean the white line?
What exactly can be seen in the photos? Is it a wall or floor? Is that the “mini water barrier”?
Maybe you could take an overview photo of the entire shower and mark the spot you want to show in more detail?
Is the other (dark) part a stainless steel strip?

I’m asking myself all these questions as well.

I see an unfilled joint there, which would normally need to be sealed—possibly not with joint mortar but with silicone if it is an expansion joint.
