Hi,

How would you lay the parquet flooring in this apartment layout? Uniformly across the light direction in the living room, or uniformly along it? The parquet will be installed uniformly, meaning there are no plans to change the orientation in different rooms. It is also decided that the hallway and kitchen areas will have parquet, just to clarify that in advance.

Best regards,
Maria

We applied it uniformly perpendicular to the direction of light in all rooms.

I installed the flooring consistently parallel to the incoming light. This is more common practice, as it makes the joints less visible.
If you want to highlight the joints, install the flooring perpendicular to the main light source.

I would install it lengthwise to the direction of the light, as this makes the joints less visible and your room is narrower in that direction, giving it a visually elongated effect.

Opinions will likely be split evenly. Try lying down and decide based on what feels best for you.

I want to emphasize a hallway about 10 m (33 feet) long and about 1.50 m (5 feet) wide—lengthwise?
