Hello everyone,
we are currently considering options for our bathroom vanity and sinks.
We are planning a base cabinet 160 cm (63 inches) wide with two separate wall-mounted sinks.
What width would you recommend for each sink?
A narrower sink obviously leaves more counter space, but it shouldn’t be too narrow.
Also, we currently have a sink made of vitrified clay, and the problem is that the basin is too shallow, so water and residue don’t drain properly.
I wanted to ask the community what types of sinks you have and whether you are satisfied with them. The brand doesn’t matter much to us.
Best regards

I’m curious to see how you’ll install the 1.6m (5.25 ft) vanity unit yourself. Especially if you damage the tiles when removing a washbasin.

If the general contractor refuses to remove the washbasin, it might actually be better to let them install the final washbasins. Who knows if dismantling would leave ugly holes or something similar.
None of this is ideal. The issue with plumbing fixtures comes up in almost every construction project. It’s always the same old warranty talk. They want to sell the components at the expensive rates charged by plumbing companies, who then get a share of the profit.
I could understand if the prices were reasonable, but the markups are usually quite outrageous.
At least our first construction company had no problem painting the washbasin cabinet and crediting a (fair) amount for it. I don’t understand why warranty is being used as an argument in your case. They just need to install two angle valves, end of story.
What do they have to do with the warranty on the washbasins you installed on your own?

He will probably try to avoid any warranty responsibility anyway.
Even if the original sink was installed by the general contractor, replacing it yourself won’t make a difference.
At any problem, the first reaction will still be "your fault."
I wouldn’t rely on the warranty here; it’s basically worthless.

I could accept that if the prices were reasonable, but the markups are usually really bold.I still find it a bit difficult to assess. When I compare the markups with online prices, there are obviously significant differences, but I have no experience with what it would cost from an independent tradesperson including installation. If the price isn’t noticeably below the manufacturer’s suggested retail price, that somewhat balances things out again.
