Hello everyone,
we are currently considering options for our bathroom vanity and sinks.
We are planning a base cabinet 160 cm (63 inches) wide with two separate wall-mounted sinks.
What width would you recommend for each sink?
A narrower sink obviously leaves more counter space, but it shouldn’t be too narrow.
Also, we currently have a sink made of vitrified clay, and the problem is that the basin is too shallow, so water and residue don’t drain properly.
I wanted to ask the community what types of sinks you have and whether you are satisfied with them. The brand doesn’t matter much to us.
Best regards

I'm looking for pictures like these on the internet. You should try doing that too.
Although I wouldn't think of searching for Villeroy & Boch.Oh, we’ve already done that as well and have a rough idea of how it should look:Just in terms of style... colors, etc., don’t quite match. Mainly, we’re interested in personal user experiences here 🙂.
@kati1337 As far as I understand, you can easily use a vanity cabinet for vessel sinks under a wall-mounted sink. The difference is that the sinks are additionally fixed to the wall and not just resting on the cabinet. The Collaro series from VuB, for example.
Oh, right – that really depends on the sink. Most wall-mounted sinks included as standard by construction companies are not very modern in design and usually have a curved bottom rather than a flat one.
They often look like this or something similar:
Of course, a vanity cabinet can fit underneath, but I think it looks less elegant. Also, you need to be careful about the clearances. Instead of a regular siphon, you would need a space-saving trap or furniture trap, and the sinks must be mounted on the wall with specific distances so they fit into the cutouts of the countertop or vanity.

In the standard package, it is not included either. For example, the Collaro polished to 60cm (24 inches) costs an additional 300 euros.
According to our general contractor, planning the spacing is not an issue. We just need to tell them which base cabinet we plan to install underneath later, and everything will be planned accordingly. Let’s hope it works out that way...
We could also get the base cabinet from the general contractor, but it costs over 1000 euros more there... We’d rather source and install it ourselves 😉

We also haven’t found any vanity units from any general contractor that we liked. If I wanted something inexpensive, I’d go back to the Godmorgon from the big blue flat-pack store. They are unbeatable in terms of price-performance ratio. They have a great interior, good layout, and are sturdy.
This time, we went a bit deeper into our pockets, but we are sourcing the furniture ourselves and have now ordered two complete solid oak vanities for about 1400€ (around $1,500). You could easily spend that amount at a specialist dealer or with a construction company for veneered particleboard furniture.
