Hello,
we want to install sliding panel curtains in our home.
However, I find the installation of sliding panel curtains without Velcro (like with Kvartal) not ideal.
Now I have found a good supplier for the rails and panel carriers and plan to buy the sliding curtains from IKEA and retrofit them with Velcro.
Has anyone here ever retrofitted IKEA sliding panel curtains with Velcro? Is that even possible, or am I underestimating the effort?
Best regards, Kaethe

Hello,
I just went ahead and bought the sliding curtains from Ikea. The sliding curtain system I already had from another manufacturer because I really wanted hook-and-loop fasteners (Velcro) on the curtains so I could easily change and swap them.
It worked really well. I got the hook-and-loop tape from a fabric store, along with matching sewing thread. I folded and ironed the top edge twice, pinned the hook-and-loop tape in place, and sewed it on at both edges with a sewing machine. At the bottom, I also folded and ironed twice and sewed a hem for the weight rail.
It was worth it. Although it took some time since I’m not an experienced sewer, the result is really nice.
Best regards,
Kaethe
