headroomHi
I want to build a wall. I have already laid an 80 cm deep (31.5 inches) foundation.
My question is which material I should use to connect the first row to the foundation. People casually mention "setting in mortar," but what exactly should I use? Please provide a precise product description.
Also, it would be helpful to know which products I should use to join the individual blocks. Someone even told me to glue them with tile adhesive, but that seems too thin to me. I actually want a nicely visible joint.
Thanks

Thanks Which row exactly? Is the concrete wall made of concrete blocks, aerated concrete blocks, or poured concrete, and do you only want to set up the formwork?
We have concrete blocks, and a storm knocked down the wall. Then professionals rebuilt the wall—3m (10 feet) long, with a slope from 1.8m to 1.2m (6 feet to 4 feet)—and we had bonded it firmly with a special adhesive—it did not hold!
The professionals then used a special tile adhesive, and with that, the wall holds—but the joints are hardly visible. You can also use mortar and build a proper wall. As I said, our first attempt ended with the wall collapsing.
You should ask the supplier.
If they sell the bricks, they will most likely also sell the adhesive and be able to explain how to connect it to the foundation.
If not, visit your local building supply store and get advice there!
