We are currently building a semi-detached house. The general contractor wants to create the splash protection strip using 30cm (12 inch) wide concrete slabs. In your opinion, is this acceptable? It’s not very attractive visually, but does it serve its purpose, or could it be counterproductive? Is it even allowed to do it this way?
Thank you very much for your answers!

A properly designed splash guard ensures that rainwater soaks gently and effectively into the ground rather than splashing onto surfaces and dirtying the facade.
Concrete slabs prevent both issues from occurring.
Besides, it is not visually appealing, so I wouldn’t want it on the house for that reason alone.

I consider that counterproductive.I completely agree with that—ugly, more harmful than helpful, and later it will require effort to fix the situation again.Traumfaenger schrieb:
It will take extra work later to fix the condition again. …Later, the base will be wet because all the water is compressed and runs down along the concrete slab at the base. Result: standing water -> risk of damage requiring repairs!
