Hello,

we are also in the process of building.

Currently, we are focusing on the cladding of the ceiling edges around the stairwell and the gallery.

We would like to have the ceiling edges plastered instead of using the usual wood cladding.

A question for the professionals: Is there anything to consider or any special precautions we should take during installation (we are not doing it ourselves)? Will this also remain crack-free in the long term?

Thank you very much for your answers.

Whenever drywall meets stone or concrete, it will crack. Therefore, avoid this—using a wooden edge is the correct professional approach.

... Thank you for your response. Perhaps to clarify further: it is the area of the concrete structural ceiling and the area of the screed that need to be covered. So similar materials, not drywall or anything like that. Still problematic?

I don’t understand... with us, everything including the gallery railing is plastered. Without any visible transition, without cracks.

You can embed a metal angle into the plaster. That should work.
