ᐅ Ceiling vents with a stylish design – do such options exist?

Dear all,

We will be installing a mechanical ventilation system with heat recovery, and for various reasons, both the ground floor and the upper floor will have ceiling-mounted vents.

My wife finds the typical round disc vents, where you can see into the duct from the side, terribly unattractive, and I have to agree with her, even though I don’t feel that strongly about it. She would prefer rectangular vents, although the common ones from Helios always remind me of bathroom fans. The more expensive ones from Tecanno look nicer but still aren’t really impressive, especially considering the price.

What kind of vents do you have, or have you seen any nice ones? Are there any technical aspects we should keep in mind?

Thanks and best regards

Honestly, you don’t notice that at all on the ceiling. Every smoke detector is much more noticeable, like a pimple on the ceiling.

And it’s only the exhaust vents anyway, which you naturally have in secondary rooms and usually not in the living room.

No, it’s also fresh air supply. Unless I choose something else...

They are not adjustable at all (except for volume). With Zehnder, adjustable valves in the supply air were standard (in my case).

So that’s another reason in favor, which is fine.

I find it quite ugly. Even without the association mentioned earlier.
We do have them :p they are for exhaust air. The simpler round ones are for supply air. I didn’t like any of it either. But we don’t see them anymore.
Still, thanks for the thread and the other examples. I’d probably like to switch to rectangular ones, but replacing each ventilation outlet for at least 20€ is a bit too expensive for me 🙄, especially since we’ve gotten used to ignoring the parts anyway.

So one more argument in favor, that's okay

No, functionally the simple covers are exactly right for the exhaust air. However, they are not suitable for the supply air.
