Dear all,
We will be installing a mechanical ventilation system with heat recovery, and for various reasons, both the ground floor and the upper floor will have ceiling-mounted vents.
My wife finds the typical round disc vents, where you can see into the duct from the side, terribly unattractive, and I have to agree with her, even though I don’t feel that strongly about it. She would prefer rectangular vents, although the common ones from Helios always remind me of bathroom fans. The more expensive ones from Tecanno look nicer but still aren’t really impressive, especially considering the price.
What kind of vents do you have, or have you seen any nice ones? Are there any technical aspects we should keep in mind?
Thanks and best regards

Do you have a fireplace or stove heater at your place?
If so, I would include an activated carbon filter in the plan right away.

When it comes to the external connections, make sure the required spacing between them is maintained. And remember to plan for enough valves with appropriate supply lines in the rooms. Two valves are quieter than one :-).
