Hello,

I recently had a conversation with an acquaintance who said that it is much more cost-effective and efficient to build a turnkey home with an architect rather than with a developer... so far, I haven’t really heard or found much information online about architects offering this kind of service?!??!!

Anyone with experience, opinions, or links?

Thanks and best regards

To reiterate, it CAN be cheaper but doesn’t have to be!!!!

With an architect, you always build a custom house tailored to your needs.
From the very beginning, you are involved in every decision-making process and have a constant overview of both the costs already incurred and those yet to come.

The architect is independent and acts especially in your interest towards the contractors, since they do not have a contractual relationship with these companies.

With a developer, I can also have my custom house planned, right?

Oh man, it’s really hard to navigate all the chaos of building…

That’s true. However, in most cases, you will be talking to a SALES PERSON during the planning meetings, who I believe has different interests and skills than someone who has studied architectural design and planning of houses.

That said, there may be developers who assign you a knowledgeable sales representative or an architect, and have them keep redesigning until you are completely satisfied with the plans.

Of course, it should be noted that there are both good and less good professionals on both sides (developers and architects).
