Hello,

an architect does charge quite a bit of money, so I was wondering if I could do it myself, or if I am required to have an architect?

I wouldn’t overthink it and would just pay. To put it simply, you just need one, and then you avoid all the hassle. Just consider it a fixed cost.

I think you are right. I should save money elsewhere, not where it really isn’t appropriate. I don’t want to have any problems later just because I tried to save money in the wrong place in the past.

Yes, exactly. Now I find your way of speaking much clearer. That’s how it should be. Especially when building a house, you shouldn’t cut corners in the wrong places, otherwise you might regret it for a lifetime.

I can only agree with that... A professional is always worth the money... Because the nerves of the builder cannot be compensated with money...

I would definitely not recommend planning a house without an architect! Otherwise, it will go wrong—maybe even literally crooked.

Friends of mine are the biggest cheapskates you can imagine. And yet, when building their house, they hired an architect. I think that says a lot.
