We are considering installing two-tone windows. A colored film is applied on the outside of the plastic windows.
Now I am wondering about the durability of such a film. How will it look after 10, 20, or more years? Does the film fade or even peel off in some areas?
Does anyone know if the films used are any good, or is it better to save the money?

We were talking about a membrane that not just anyone installs, but you do it yourself. The membrane itself might be okay, but how is a layperson supposed to apply it to the window without it looking terrible? If I do it, I can give you a 100-year guarantee that it will look awful. The builder wants up to 6,000 euros. We'll see what else comes up.S

Like the roof tiles We didn’t want a white house with dark windows. There are already plenty of those around. That’s why we chose white windows (the house was originally going to be painted in a darker color). Now the paint has been made lighter... so the windows can be darker. We've seen exactly this combination in our current neighborhood, and we really like it... in fact, the back of the house already shows this.
The roof tiles have really caught your attention... although I don’t understand all the constant references to them.

It does seem that, in your case, more thought was given during the construction phase than beforehand. Building a house is not something spontaneous that will quickly come back to cause problems.
