Backfilling is already underway here again. Excavation was just done last week. The progress is really fast.

This is well foam. Some of the panels couldn’t be pushed together without gaps. I think without the foam it would be just as bad; water will get in anyway.

It’s good that they at least used the foam. But why is the water supposed to get in there anyway? That shouldn’t happen, otherwise the insulation becomes ineffective.

Isn't that the purpose of the bituminous thick coating between the panels and the basement wall?

The waterproofing of the walls, but not the insulation — if the insulation becomes saturated, its insulating effect will be reduced.

They are fully glued down; in my opinion, nothing else helps. The capillary effect spreads water everywhere. Small gaps will always remain between the panels.

When fully glued down, nothing can get in between.
