Hello everyone.
I have ordered a Metod kitchen and will be assembling it myself soon. For the wall cabinets, I would like to use the profile rail. Is it possible to slide the cabinets sideways into the rail, or do they have to be hung from above? The reason is that I want the wall cabinets to be mounted as close to the ceiling as possible, at most 3-5 mm (0.1-0.2 inches) lower, so that the doors can open freely. I imagine that hanging them from above might require more space between the cabinets and the ceiling. I look forward to your answers. By the way, Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

Hello
I think 3-5mm (0.1-0.2 inches) is too little. The hook on the cabinet body that hangs into the rail is probably already 5mm (0.2 inches) or even more.
I wasn’t able to simply slide the wall cabinets along the rail; I always had to lift them slightly to move them.
For me, the wall cabinets are now about 2.5cm (1 inch) away from the ceiling. It might be possible to have a slightly smaller gap, but I don’t think 3-5mm (0.1-0.2 inches) will work.
As an alternative, you could try installing the wall cabinets at about 1.6cm (0.6 inches) from the ceiling and then mount a 1.6cm (0.6 inches) thick trim board between the top of the cabinet and the ceiling. That would probably look quite good and you wouldn’t have any gap at the top at all.
I wish you good luck with your project.
Best regards
